I am a junior Interactive Design major and Technical Communication minor student studying at Kennesaw State University. I chose Interactive Design because I am passionate about combining visual design with user interaction. Users are the most important part of a design process and I enjoy working with them firsthand through research and user interviews. Courses I have taken throughout my degree, such as Visual Design and Interactive Design have provided me with necessary design and computation skills such as goal-directed and human-centered design approaches, web development, designing for accessibility, HTML5, CSS, usability testing, and prototyping. I am skilled at many Adobe programs such as InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. I have also honed many soft skills through my Leadership, Information Design, and Technical writing courses such as presentations, analysis, teamwork, professional writing, leadership, and research.
I create applications that specialize in UI/UX design. Good design focuses on understanding user’s perceptions, goals, needs, and motivation. I am passionate about environmental concerns and I would love to incorporate that into my field of work. Ideally, I would like to work as a UX/UI designer for a company that focuses on designing for users and raising awareness about environmental issues. I enjoy all aspects of visual and interactive design and I want to work hands-on with a team that supports and challenges one another to create meaningful designs.
